![]() (6) Re the CC desktop app - do you mean the app that's listed in my "Adobe Master Collection CS6" Start Menu folder as "Adobe Application Manager" and which has the name "Creative Cloud" in its title bar when open? I am very current with my Win7 patches and I regularly run the updates for Creative Suite 6 including the Adobe Application Manager. (5) If it's Adobe's stance that this is an OS issue, I recommend including your explanation on the referenced instructions page, to help mitigate the degree to which that page makes Adobe look like a total tool of a company. (4) Is this authentication system carried forward to CC? If not, I may consider upgrading. (3) Perhaps you would consider un-tethering my serial number from the old Machine ID and let me start fresh? This would be so very greatly appreciated. Or are you thinking that I'm getting a new Machine ID whenever I reboot due to something that Microsoft is responsible for? Is there a way for me to check my Machine ID from time to time, to see whether it's constantly changing? (2) Does your explanation imply that I can never upgrade to a new computer and reinstall CS6 on the new one? There must be a number of people who'd expect to be able to do this but the Machine ID would never match, would it? Perhaps it's in the TOS that one can't upgrade machines. I have purchased and activated software from many, many vendors and nobody else's has caused me to land in this tiresome endless loop. ![]() the decision has caused me to log in and enter my serial number probably 500 times - every time I reboot. Because this approach doesn't work (in my case). But it was Adobe's decision to tie my CS6 software to my computer's Machine ID. ![]() (1) I empathize with the difficulties inherent in getting one's own software to play will with another company's. Yes, this is happening to me right now and I am waiting on said Platinum reseller to MAYBE look into their archives of 10 years and give me a proof of purchase (like that is going to happen).Brett, thank you for your reply and insights. Meanwhile in live chat support the guy is telling me that the acrobat code is genuine but the CS5 half is pirated and the only resolution is "buy our sub, discounted!" Meanwhile we receive an email from Adobe support saying if it is a real pirate then the entire suite (BOTH serials) shouldn't work - which isn't the chase. And now she tells me I have to go back 10 years to find a 'proof of purchase' to 'escalate' (not fix) this. And then she tried to tell me the reason why my serial doesn't work is because I'm in North America now so the region is bad - but my Acrobat installation as of last week worked fine and just the CS5 half is 'invalid' - so she let that argument drop too. Then she tells me the reseller isn't genuine, "it's not on adobe's site! Go to to check!" until I yelled over her to go look under Hong Kong region - then she let that argument drop. ![]() With the upgrade to a new desktop, MAGICALLY, the CS5 serial is revoked because it is 'pirated'. But we pull illustrator and INDD files from our archives once in a while. We are on a photoshop subscription now because it is the one program we use frequently. We got TWO serial codes - one for CS5 and one for Acrobat. With one redemption code we got from Adobe's OWN WEBSITE. We purchased a copy of CS5 Design SUITE via a lisenced reseller whose name is STILL on their website. I will like to add my name to the 'screwed by Adobe' list. But I still want my CS6 running on my old iMac. I recently purchased CC, running on my new iMac. I managed to find Adobe's "Thank you for the purchase" email, sent directly after making the CS6 purchase, and then another with my serial number for CS6.Įven today, on my account, there is a record of my registered CS4, the CS5 purchase and the CS6 order number and serial number.īut I don't have the invoice, which is what they are asking for. I have been trying to prove that I purchased these products from Adobe, and that THEY gave me the serial numbers. Just this weekend, I had to reinstall it.Īlas - your serial number has been revoked. I purchased CS4 from B&H in 2009, registered it with the serial number. Oh, so so sorry that this happened to you. Pulling your hair out, you tell them that you bought it FROM THEIR DEALERSHIP. When you eventually find out that they took it away, you ask WHY? They say, so sorry, but you have non genuine VW parts in your vehicle, so you can no longer have it. A week later, the dealership takes your new Golf away. You pay a lot of money for it, but you love it. Imagine going to an authorised VW dealership and buying a brand new Golf.
